Ministries
Eucharistic Ministers
Eucharistic Ministers, formally known as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, play a vital role in Catholic churches. They assist in the distribution of the Eucharist during Mass and extend the sacrament to the sick or homebound when clergy (bishops, priests, and deacons) are unavailable. This ministry is considered an act of compassion and reverence, embodying Christ’s call to service and care for the community.
In our parish, Sr. Theres Chacko and Mr. George Padavil currently serve as Eucharistic Ministers, dedicating their time and devotion to this important ministry. Their efforts help to ensure that the grace of the Eucharist is accessible to all members of the congregation, including those unable to attend Mass in person.

Sacristan
The Sacristan plays a vital role in preparing and overseeing the articles and elements necessary for the liturgy, ensuring that all members of the worshipping community can participate fully, consciously, and actively in the celebration. With a deep understanding of the meaning and purpose of the liturgy and the specific needs of the assembly, the Sacristan carefully prepares the liturgical items required for a meaningful and prayerful experience.
The responsibilities include opening and lighting the church, ensuring cleanliness and appropriate decoration, preparing bread and wine, arranging vessels and vestments, organizing linens, setting up seating and microphones, and placing books and candles. These tasks are performed with diligence and care to facilitate the celebration of Mass.
Currently, Mr. Mathews Kallukalam serves as the main Sacristan, dedicating his time and expertise to fostering a reverent and prayerful environment for the congregation. His work exemplifies the Sacristan’s commitment to supporting the liturgical life of the community.
Faith Formation
The St. Thomas Syro Malabar Catholic Church provides faith formation classes for students from Pre-K to 12th Grade.
The journey of faith begins at Baptism and invites children to actively participate, alongside their parents, in the full life of our Catholic Church. To ensure this journey enriches the lives of everyone involved, it is essential that catechists, parents, and students understand and embrace their roles: Catechists: Guide and inspire students in their faith journey. Parents: Actively support and nurture their children’s spiritual growth. Students: Engage wholeheartedly in learning and living their faith.

Choir
The choir is an integral part of our congregation, providing inspiration and blessings to our worship services. They actively participate in all regular and special worship services, enriching the spiritual experience. During the Christmas season, the choir joins parishioners for house-to-house caroling, spreading joy and the spirit of the season.
Altar Servers
Altar Servers play an essential role in assisting the clergy during the celebration of the Mass and other liturgical services. They help ensure that the liturgy is conducted with reverence, order, and solemnity, enriching the worship experience for the entire congregation.
